Free images?

image

Now, in your Darkroom, you can edit your images simply by clicking on the thumbnails. A window pops up which allows you to edit all kinds of image details and attributes. Eventually, users will be able to edit pricing and licensing options here as well.

Our first step into this experiment with user-selected pricing and licensing is the free image option. After some intensive market research and discussions with designers we believe that one fantastic way to get into the designer zeitgeist is to offer a collection of free images beside our collection of microstock.

These free images are still governed by our standard, royalty-free Content License Agreement, however they are, of course, free.

You can opt any accepted image into the free library simply by checking the box at the top of the right column on the image editor pop-up. You also have the ability to take any free image and switch it back to microstock pricing whenever you want.

We recommend that interested users opt a small range of images into the free library which can tease interested image buyers into browsing the rest of your portfolio and purchasing some of your masterworks at high quality.

We are in the midst of developing the free library / system so all input and suggestions are welcome during this process. You know the drill, post your thoughts to the comments : )

This is a very interesting concept.  I'm thinking of putting a few nice composition, but lower resolution images in the free section to see if that will help draw attention to us.  I will be interested to hear any feed back we get.  Bruce
